Merry Christmas and May the Lord’s Great Love Bless you this day and every day.

 WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?

During the holiday season, it’s essential that we remember what this holiday actually represents. Amidst the festivities and the gift giving we cannot forget the “greatest gift of all”, the gift that God gave us in His son, Jesus Christ. But also, it’s not enough to only praise Christ during the holidays, but everyday of our lives. Which leads us to the question, that we must all ask ourselves….Who is Jesus to You?

Jesus is many different things to many different people. Some say “Jesus is my Rock”, some say “He’s my Strong Tower”, some say “He’s my Anchor”, and other’s call him a fence, a hedge or water when I’m thirsty.

But who is he to you? Is He your Lord? Is He your all and all? Is He your Christ, your Savior?

Isaiah 9v6 told us that for unto us a child is born…and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Which of these is Jesus to you?

The Hebrew dictionary tells us the name Jesus comes from the word “Joshua”, which means God is salvation, just as Matthew 1v21 says, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS; for he shall save his people from their sins. 1v23 goes on to say…they shall call his name Emmanuel, or God with us.

But, Who is Jesus to you? Psalm 2v2 calls him the Anointed One, Mark 1v1 speaks of Jesus as the Son of God. John 1v29 refers to Jesus as the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world! Acts 3v15 calls him the Author of Life. Rev. 22v16 refers to Jesus as the Bright Morning Star, Rev. 19v16 calls Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Rev5v5 refers to Jesus as the Lion of Judah, and John 1v1 simply calls Jesus, “The Word.” Rev. 1v8 speaks of Jesus as Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, where does He begin in your life and where does he end? Does he have all of you or just some of you?

Who is Jesus to You?Is he your Lord? As Philippians 2v10 says, every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…but if he is not your Lord, Luke 6v46 ask the question… “And why call you on me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say.” We are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, for we were bought with a price, and our bodies is not our own.

Who is Jesus to You?I John 4v16 says that God or Jesus is Love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Jesus gave us the commandment, That we love one another, as he has loved us.

Who is Jesus to You?Ephesians 2v13says that He is our peace, a peace that passes all understanding. In John 14v27, Jesus said, “Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (That’s why the devil wants to steal your peace and your joy.)

Who is Jesus to You?Isaiah 43v25 tells us that Jesus is our forgiver, in saying, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake and will not remember thy sins.

Who is Jesus to You? John 8:v2 tells us that Jesus is our deliverer; in telling us that if we know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Who is Jesus to You? I Peter 2v21 tells us that Jesus is our example, For even were you called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. I John 2v16 tells us that if we say we abideth in Him, then we are to walk, even as Christ walked.

Who is Jesus to You? Psalm 119v63 tells us that Jesus is our companion, in saying “I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts”, and Prov. 18v24 tells us that he’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Who is Jesus to You? Psalm 3v3 tells us, O Lord, thou art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head, and Psalm 61v3 says that “For thou has been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy”. (And in Isaiah 59v19, when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.)

Who is Jesus to You? Who does Jesus say He is?

In John 6v35 he says “I am the bread of Life. He who comes to me will never go hungry.”

In John 8v12 he says “I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness.”

In John 10v9 & 10 he says “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” And “I am the good shepherd, who lays down his life for the sheep.”

In John 11v25, he says “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

In John 14v6 he says “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

In John 15v1, he says “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

We know that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. What does the Bible tells us of God? Isaiah 40v28 says “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and is understanding no one can understand. The Hebrew name for God, tells us who He is:

- Elohim – God, Power and Mighty

- El Elyon – Most High

- El Shaddai – God of Mountains

- El Olam – Everlasting God

- Jehovah – The One who is always present

- Jehovah –Nissi – The Lord my Banner – gives victory

- Jehovah – Shalom – The Lord of Peace

- Jehovah – Tsidkenu – The Lord God, our Righteousness and

- Adonai – Master and Lord

So, Who is Jesus to You?

He’s a doctor in a sick room.

He’s a lawyer in a court room.

He’s your strength, your salvation, your liberator.

He’s your intercessor, your miracle worker, your guider and provider.

He’s Preacher and teacher, your keeper when you want to be kept.

He’s your rest for a weary soul and your deliverer and redeemer.

Who is Jesus to You? Is he your rock, your strong tower, your fence or anchor? In all these things, all these names, all add up to one name – JESUS; your Savior, your Lord, you all and all, the Greatest Gift of All. So this holiday, Give someone a gift, the gift of Jesus Christ!

Merry Christmas and May the Lord’s Great Love Bless you this day and every day.
